WESTERN-SUPPORTED CHECK SCANNERS
In order to electronically submit and deposit paper checks…be it Check 21, Accounts Receivable Conversion ("ARC") or Back Office Conversion ("BOC"), or to resubmit an NSF ("RCK") you’ll need a scanner that meets specific scanning and imaging requirements. Western’s proprietary scanning software currently supports several scanners that do meet the federal standards for check scanning/imaging and electronic check submission, providing the opportunity to select a check scanning software and hardware solution designed to satisfy the unique needs of your organization.*
Magtek Excella STX
The STX is a single feed, dual-sided scanner well-suited for the small business that will be converting 100 or fewer checks per day. As a Point-of-Sale ("POS") scanner for the small business owner it also has the unique capability to scan and archive a customer’s driver’s license, social security, or other like ID.
Magtek Excella
The Excella is a relatively high volume scanner and can hold 50 to 60 checks in its hopper at one time. It is also capable, as is the STX, of functioning in a network (addressable IP) environment. Billers or business that receive a significant number (250 +) of checks per day may wish to consider the multi-check feed Excella.
Canon CR-55
For businesses that process a larger volume of checks (> 500), the CR-55 may be an appropriate scanning solution. It is compact, quiet and robust, and Western’s Clients have found it particularly well-suited for scanning applications that include payment coupon / stub scanning and decoding (OCR, MICR, Barcode) in conjunction with check scanning and Remote Deposit Capture ("RDC").
Canon CR-180
Having the same basic attributes as the CR-55, the CR-180’s enhanced design and engineering enables processing throughput for a significantly higher volume of checks (and payment coupons - if required) per batch - and per day than the CR-55. If you are receiving 750 - 1000 - 2000 - or more - checks per day, the deployment of one or more CR-180’s in your check processing center will provide the ´horsepower´ necessary to effect an efficient electronic check delivery and deposit solution.
